Fisher had a dream that he shared with the whole island. When that dream
of gold treasure came true, the whole town celebrated.
Schooner Wharf is joining the celebration of Mel Fisher Days in events
that combine stories of the treasure hunt, memories of the man, and a few
of his favorite activities.
This year�s events at Schooner Wharf marks the 21st anniversary of the
historic discovery of the Atocha and Santa Margarita.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, a full evening of fun and frivolity will
be enhanced by great grub and grog served by the great staff at Schooner
Wharf.
The evening will include a fabulous Homemade Bikini Contest with an
authentic
silver Atocha coin as the grand prize. The Mel Fisher Lifetime
Achievement Award will honor long time Mel Fisher friend, museum
employee and Conch Republic General, Geoff Chapman. Test your Mel
Fisher trivia with a game of �To Tell The Mel Truth�. Surprise
guest appearances by distinctive celebrities always add to the
festivities. Be sure to join a host of outlandish treasure hunters once
dubbed �a hapless band of fools�.
Don�t miss this special opportunity to indulge in an evening to remember
the King of the Conch Republic and treasure hunter extraordinaire � Mel
Fisher � at the Schooner Wharf Bar.
