There
are two days to celebrate the wearing o the green at Schooner Wharf Bar while
enjoying Black and Tans, green beer and
schnapps, and of course some great Irish Whisky. Enjoy traditional corned beef
and cabbage prepared by the Schooner galley. There is a lot of fun to be had at
this popular waterfront pub.
On Saturday, March 14, everyone will extend their Irish heritage for the 37th Annual St. Patty's Day Bar Stroll on which just like everything else, always
ends up at Schooner Wharf Bar.
The Schooner Wharf stage will be hoppin all day: Michael McCloud, accompanied
by Professor Pete Peterson and Captain Carl Guitar Peachy will entertain
from 9 am 2 pm. Then the upbeat combo Skraeling is back with their
catchy fusion of Celtic rhythms, country, and rock, and will perform from 2:30
6:00pm. Taking us into the late night are the dynamic Doerfels.
Their show is a blend of contemporary and classic rock, country, bluegrass, pop
and alternative music, with a unique blend of acoustic and electric instruments.
Often joined on stage by sisters Nina and Naomi Newton, as well as younger
members of both families, these lively kids keep audiences entertained as their
wide variety of talent is showcased throughout the evening. Music fans of all
ages enjoy their fun filled shows. Their one-of-a-kind eclectic energy is
something you wont want to miss.
But
the party doesnt stop then. Join us St. Patricks Day Tuesday, March 17th at
Schooner Wharf Bar for another round of green beer and corned beef and cabbage.
Local entertainer, Gary Hempsey, brings his musical talents to Schooner Wharf
Bar from noon till 5 pm Gary performs his renditions true to the original, but
he interjects just enough of his unique energy and style so that you never
forget that you are listening to a live performance.
The jigs not up! Skraeling will be back from 7 pm Midnight. They fuse catchy
originals with modern takes on rock, country favorites, and celtic rhythms.
Acoustic guitar, fiddle and drums combine for a powerful driving sound. Its a
tight dynamic performance ranging from tender ballads, Irish sing-alongs to wild
volcanic reels! Skraelings sound is spirited and new.
