party with hog roast was also part of the festivities on Friday.
Here are a few pictures...
The
friendly and unmistakable rumble of the Poker Run will wind its way to
Schooner Wharf Bar as visitors and residents compete in the Paradise
Tattoo
Show and Contest Saturday, Sept. 16th, at 3:00 p.m., (registration at
2:00), followed by a Beach House Bikini Show at 6:00 p.m.
The Tattoo Show & Contest Categories are Best Color, Smallest Tattoo, Best
Black & Gray Tattoo, Best Tribal, Best Back, Best Female, and Best Male.
The grand prize will go to Best of Show.
Show your ink, then get a drink in paradise. The contest will be emceed by
Magic Frank.
$100 in CASH will be awarded, along with trophies, gift certificates from
Schooner Wharf Bar, and prizes from Paradise Tattoo.
But
dont put your clothes back on too soon, because after the tattoo contest,
the stage will heat up again for the Bikini Show, which promises to be as
racy as the bikes parked out front.
Live music will fill the air from Steve Thorpe and the Blues Orchestra
some of the best blues music youll ever hear., according to Peter
Blewzzman Lauro. And the smell of Schooner Wharfs famous barbecue will
tempt your taste buds as much as the women in bikinis and guys in tight
jeans.
Also during the afternoon, former Key West Citizen crime reporter Terry
Schmida will sign copies of his brand new book, True Crime Stories of Key
West and the Florida Keys, from 2-6 p.m. True Crime Stories explores some
of the most sensational crimes in the history of the Keys, with wit and
verve. Two of the many intriguing stories are:
*Who ripped off the Beatles during their 1964 swing through Key West?
*How did brazen bank robbers pull off the only big heist in Key West
history?
But theres no need to wait until Saturday, when the fun begins at
Schooner Wharf Friday, Sept. 15th. A welcome party will greet Poker Run
bikers with a Hog Roast with all the fixins at 5:00 p.m. Quench your
thirst after the ride down with great Jack Daniels drink specials all
night that will continue all weekend.
