Race 1
Results - January
With an incoming
tide, an outgoing wind and a front passing through gusting at 29, it was a
brave, fearless and fast fleet racing to the reef for the first race of the
popular Schooner Wharf Bar Wrecker's Cup Race Series. Sea conditions were rough
3-5 footers with a NNW blowing a steady 18-19 knots, and plenty of sunshine.
Next race date is February 24th, call Evalena or Sheree at 292-9520 to join the
regatta.

Results - February
The delayed
second race of the eagerly anticipated Schooner Wharf Bar Wreckers Cup Race
Series 2008 was held on Sunday, March 2nd. It was a sleigh ride going out to
the reef, the hard work was coming back in. There was a NE Schooner wind
blowing 20 and gusting to 25 knots. Wind generated 3-5 foot rollers kept
captains and crew busy working the race course. Mariners come us for our

Results - March
The third race of the popular Schooner
Wharf Bar Wreckers Cup Race Series took place under clear skies and over
blue waters on Sunday, March 30th. The wind blew out of the northeast at
10-15 knots with a slack current and a fleet of thirty local and visiting
seafarers and crew. The last race will be held on Sunday, April 27th at 1:00
p.m. with a Captains Meeting held on the upper deck of Schooner Wharf on
Saturday, April 26th at 7:00 p.m. |

Results - April
The last race of the popular Schooner Wharf
Bar Wreckers' Cup Race 2008 Series took place Sunday in turquoise seas where
an inflatable shark was spotted trailing a boat. Fifteen knot winds out of
the East/southeast made for 2 to 3-foot rollers and chop. Tall ship Wolf's
dinghy nearly overtook her, sails were lost, and one brave captain came to
the rescue to win the Salvage Award. The 2008 Race Series overall winner is
Stu Williams of Gwaihir. Don't miss all the action! Join the fun beginning
next January for the four race series. |
