Help Schooner Wharf help one of its own

Schooner Wharf Bar will host a fundraiser and musical jamboree at 6 p.m. till late, April 10 to help longtime bar manager Jim “Slim Jim” Book, who is recovering from severe heart failure and a stroke.

All money raised on Wednesday, April 10 will help with medical bills and living expenses, and event organizers are rounding up donations for raffle prizes and a silent auction.

Local musician Marty Stonely is putting together an all-star musical jamboree featuring more than 20 Key West musicians, including the Paul Cotton Band, George Victory and the Observant Lion Band, Raven, Gary Hemsey, Sam Ramos, Joel Nelson, Pat and Debra Lawler, Skipper Krippitz, Din Allen and many more throughout the evening. It will be a night to remember with a show-stopping, feet stomping, hand clapping jam session with all our local favorite musicians, all to help a friend.

The event starts at 6 p.m. April 10, 2013. In addition to the variety of local music, the event will feature a giant silent auction, raffles throughout the night, and more fun in the fundraiser with a Chicken Drop and card games with Magic Frank.
