On Saturday, March 16, everyone will extend their �Irish� heritage for
the 41st annual St. Patty's Day Bar Stroll, which just like everything else,
always ends up at Schooner Wharf Bar.
The Schooner Wharf stage will be clickin� their heels all day.
Michael McCloud, along with �Professor� Pete Peterson and Dave Hoffman, will
entertain from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Then
dance a jig to Charlie Raggs and His Lucky Charms. The trio will
play Irish folk music and sing-alongs with an edge. Multi-instrumental �
featuring traditional mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, double bass, guitar,
bodhran, violin, and fiddle from 2:15-6:15. They mix the best folkish
flavors into an experience served best in whiskey glasses to commemorate
Saint Patrick himself!
New and exciting this year will be a
special performance by the New Haven Emerald Society, a
traditional fire department pipes and drums band making their Key West
debut. A group of 15 firefighters, nine bagpipers and snare drums, playing
traditional Irish songs and bar tunes as a highlight of the Bar Stroll
Party.
Last Mangoes, an eclectic and
fun Key West band, will take the stage from 7:00-midnight. Catch classic and
current favorites with an islandy steel drum twist � from reggae to Motown
to rock and funk.
But the party doesn�t stop then. Join us again here on St. Patrick�s Day
(Sunday) for another round of green beer and corned beef and cabbage.
Local entertainers Michael McCloud & Friends are back with amusing wit and
musical talents from noon until 5 p.m. The celebration continues into the
night with the Irish folk sounds of Charlie Raggs and His Lucky Charms from
6:45 � 11:00 p.m. --- guaranteed to �Get your Irish up!�
