A GLITTERY NIGHT FOR SCHOONER WHARF’S MEL FISHER DAYS DOCKSIDE PARTY
Saturday, July 15th

Our annual Dockside Party for Mel Fisher Days, a tribute to Mel and Deo’s continual quest to fulfill their dream, was held at Schooner Wharf on Saturday. The night’s festivities celebrated the day 32 years ago when Mel’s crews found $400 million in shipwrecked gold, silver and emeralds that had been sitting on the ocean floor for more than 300 years.

Mel's "Golden Crew" and new divers were on hand to give tours on the J.B. Magruder and Captain Andy Matroci accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award. Tim Stephens won the Madagascar Emerald, Jan Stauch won the 50/50 drawing (then donated most to Wesley House), and Lindsay Lewis beamed as she won the Atocha coin.

The event's net proceeds was approximately $14,500 and will be donated to Wesley House Family Services.
